New layout up

First of all, thanks for giving me such good feedback on my new layout, I hope you still like it as much when you see it in action?

I’ve never had a one-column layout (well, once, but only for about two weeks during Christmas time) and I hope I will give it a chance and not lose patience too soon. I’m still working on getting the pages set up, need to change the footers and index pages.

If you notice something weird or if there’s something that bothers you (about the design) please let me know.

Exams are over

[EDIT]Still working on this layout, so if things seem wacky to you (or you think, “gosh, she really doesn’t know how to code”), bear with me :)[/EDIT]

… and I’m happy.
They all went quite good, but I wanted the to go a little better.

The best grade you can get at my Uni is a 1,0. Then it goes 1,3 , 1,7 , 2,0 , 2,3 … until 4,0. I was aiming for a 1,0 or 1,3 but …. yeah, but. I’m not going to say anything though, I’m happy they’re over, I’m happy I know for sure I already passed one (the prof let us know).

I upgraded WordPress finally. Errors were following me all over. The Dashboard, the plugins page – everything full of errors. Gah. I’m also working on a new layout.

I have two weeks where I can do what I want (call it vacation) and on February 18th I’m starting my thesis. I’ll be working 40-hour weeks until September (well, hopefully longer). The lovely university is pretty much over. No spare time for me anymore 🙁 *sigh* I’ll miss it – but I also can’t wait to finally be done – to work, to earn money, to move into a bigger place. BUT, I’ll miss it. I just hope all my classmates and I are going to keep in touch. That’s always the thing that hurts me most – knowing some of them I probably won’t every see again (or maybe once every five years).

So, the last exam was friday at 3:30pm, at 6pm we all went out to eat and drink. Fun times – unfortunately I forgot my camera. Yesterday I coded the whole day. I only moved my lil’ ass to go to the bathroom (wait – did I?). This morning the Lover came for breakfast, the noon I spent coding, this evening we’re going out for dinner. McDonalds!!!! 💡 It’s such a delicious dinner when you haven’t had it for weeks 😆

How was your week?

Isolation and Acting

Nothing new here in good ol’ Munich. Still studying daily for my upcoming exams, and the library life isn’t that exciting. I can’t wait until they’re over (which will be Friday, February 1st at 17.00). I can’t wait to sleep in again, see my parents, my sisters and my nephews again, have a love-life with the lover again ;). Missing all those things quite much. When I have upcoming exams I stay in Munich, I’m at the library at 8am, staying until about 7 or 8 pm. Almost no talking (except when the Lover and I study at home and explain things to each other. Good study method, btw), always looking down on your books (my back and neck and also head hurt so much). It actually drives you crazy after a few weeks (me at least).

I read, that after Heath Ledger got the role as the “Joker” in the new Batman movie, he practiced his role in a hotel room for about a month. He described the joker as a “psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy” (taken from wikipedia). Imagine practicing a role like that. What a job. Pretty tough. If I were an actress and had to play a role like that (or any role where you’re a rapist, mass-murder …) I think I’d go crazy in my head. Totally. If you want to play your role good, for the time when you’re making the movie, you have to be the role, you have to be a different person. At least that’s how I imagine it (I must say, I really have no idea of how the movie-business works). No wonder the actors take medicine (of whatever they take). *sigh*

Or what do you think about this? Could you play a role like that? Do you think it somehow would affect your life?

Birthday Blues

It’s my Birthday (in 1 hour) and those are the things I’ll do:

  • Get up (Try to get up) at 6.30am
  • Drink a cup of coffee, milk, two sugars
  • Try to take the bus at 7.36am to the library
  • Meet the lover at the library
  • Study
  • Pause & read my B-day SMSs
  • Study
  • Go to the Lover’s at about 3pm and study out loud
  • Answer phone calls
  • Read B-day SMSs
  • Eat, Cuddle, Sleep

How exciting 🙁

The Fad – The Library

As mentioned a few blogs earlier, study time has started.

The only place I can really concentrate and study, is the State Library in Munich. The motto for a lot of chicas and dudes in there is “Hey! Look at me! I’m hot shit!”. Even an uni-magazine wrote about the “cat-walk” in the library (a year ago) and that the library is turning into a dating agency more and more.

I have never seen:

  • so many Mac-Books in one place before (Why? Because Mac is so stylish)
  • so many chics wearing minis before.
  • so many dudes with greasy hair.
  • so many dudes with Polo-shirts before
  • so many chics with boots (over pants) before

A few days ago I went to the bathroom and see a girl paint her face. She was wearing a mini-dress, short sleeves. It’s cold in the library. I start freezing just looking at her and wonder “if she ever had a Bladder Infection”. Do you really need to look pretty when you’re studying? (IF you’re studying).

But actually it’s quite amusing looking at girls in high heels who can’t even walk in them. 🙂

stabi So many people in there have a Macbook. For what, I ask. You can see what the people in front of you use their laptop for, because you sit so close to them (see the image), and most Macbook users use it for Word. And the Internet.

Do I really need to pay about €1500 for a laptop just to use Word and the net? Amusing – once again.

Oh well, I still love studying in there, without the State Library I probably wouldn’t study at all.

Today we visited FOGRA. It’s a Graphic Technology Research Association located in Munich. Things like that (we talked about Color Management, PrePrint, Computer to Plate, ISO, PDF/X, ICC, Proofs) are much more logical when you hear them from people who work with that daily.

Well, I’m back to writing my summary about CtP.

And for whoever is wondering about my sticking-out boobs in mylast post – no, they don’t stick out like that (as much as in the images) 😉

Just a hello

I get up every morning at about 7am, from monday through sunday. I get up, get ready, take the bus to the library. Sit in the library until about 8pm – stuying. I get home by taking the bus. I sometimes get out one station before my home station, so that I walk a bit and get some action 😀 some action. Not enough, that’s for sure.
So, should I wonder about my belly being huge?

Normally – when I lie down in bed, my tummy area is a little hollow (is that the right word?) Well, see the demonstration below (images not true to scale):

tummy

See how it “goes in” a little? Well, because I love eating and because it’s winter and because I don’t ride my bike etc blablabla it’s like this when I go to bed.

tummy

Argh, the last time it was so big (for more than a week) was when I lived in the States and gained 20 pounds (the food is just soooo good there) 😛

*sigh*

It’s not that I’m fat or anything similar, I’m still tiny (just when I gain, I gain on my belly. And boobs), but I don’t feel comfortable in my skin at the moment. The lover asks me weekly if I gained on my boobies, with a big grin of course (on his face), argh – I gained everywhere! I’m sure glad he thinks it’s sexy 😉

Anyways, studying is going ok. Geography is interesting, GIS not so much, Quality Management and Print Media is ok, it’s a lot though. 🙁
