7.Semester

As of tomorrow I’m in my 7th semester and this is my schedule

I have never had such an empty one. I’m going to take optional subjects like Spanish or business classes too and I’m hoping I’m able to work half days during the semester, I need the money for some geography books. I love to buy books for class, see?

On Friday I had my last working day. And the usual thing is to bring a cake. I didn’t bring (or bake) a cake though, I brought 20 donuts

Those tasted so yumm! I’m lucky because I only know of one donut place in Munich and it’s only TEN minutes away from my place (not even).

The lover and I spent the weekend in Austria, we went hiking and relaxed. It was lovely and the weather was great.
So, what’s your favorite thing to do on a weekend?

It has started

Last Friday I did the biggest mistake of the year – I met a friend downtown, ONE DAY before the Oktoberfest started. That actually wasn’t my mistake. The mistake was that I took my bike. BIG mistake. Tourists everywhere! Mostly Americans. But also Asians, Indians, Italians etc. Yeah, the “Wiesn” started on Saturday. How I looo-hoooove this time – how I loooo-hooove Munich during that time. [/sarcasm]
I like the Oktoberfest, I like to go there, walk around, go on some rides, buy lots of candy, let the lover buy me a gingerbread heart (tradition), put on my Dirndl. I like going into a “Bierzelt” (beertent) with a bunch of people, sit and drink and dance. BUT I hate it that the Oktoberfest has turned into this huge “Let’s drink till we barf” festival. A few years ago it was normal to go to the Wiesn, let’s say, at noon time, go into a tent and have lunch. A nice yummy chicken and a liter of beer. Now – if you get to the Wiesn at noon, fine. But if you want to go into a tent at noon – too late. Unfortunatelly the morons are waiting infront of the tents since 7am, waiting for it to open at 10am (during the week) so that they can RUN to the tables and be drunk by 11am. Joy!

I’ve registered for Qigong, the course starts Thursday, October 4th. Can’t wait, Qigong sounds quite interesting and I wonder what it’s like. That’s what I need. Work is slow, I’m frustrated there, the relationship – it’s good, but not as perfect as usual, I’m bitchy. My soul didn’t have a good time the last few weeks so now the lover pushes me to do Sport and I registered for that course. I’m eating a lot of junk, but as of today my life will change. The lover and I went swimming today after work. It was exhausting, but good. After that we had a healthy dinner with a lot of veggies and healthy bread. I’m feeling good :o)

Career Cruising (.com)

I found Cindy posting about her top 10 careers. I thought she made them up at first (I was proud to read “GIS Specialist” in her choice, but then I noticed she took a nifty little test at CareerCruising.com, so, being the test-horny-test-taker I am, I took it and that’s what came out. Comments made by me 🙂

1.Computer Support Person (Nah)
2.Industrial Designer (Not interested in)
3.Interior Designer (I thought of studying this)
4.Drafter (nope)
5.Animator (oh gosh, NO!!)
6.Air Traffic Controller (Hmm… doesn’t sound like a dream job)
7.Cartographer (Yeah Baby! Studying this)
8.Model Maker (What does a Model Maker do?)
9.Fashion Designer (nah)
10.Land Surveyor (Yeah Baby! Studying this)
11.Survey Tech (Sure, why not)
12.Video Game Developer (Sounds interesting)
13.Multimedia Developer (Maybe)
14.Computer Animator (Maybe)
15.Graphic Designer (I don’t think I’m creative enough)

17.GIS Specialist (Yeah Baby! Studying this)
18.Business Systems Analyst (boring!)

20.Database Developer (I like SQL, but nah!)

It’s nice that they actually list Cartography 🙂 and Surveying and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). So, I guess I’m doing the right thing. Nice!

I’m still working on my site, the pages aren’t done yet (at all) but I was really really sick of my last layout. The brown got darker and darker each day.
This is my first Layout on schatzi.me which includes pictures of me/us in the header. Do I like it, do I not?

Full subways

Sunday was a nice relaxing day.
I spent the noon at my friends house who just had a baby. In the afternoon I rested in the sun on my parents patio. At 5pm my parents and I had dinner and after that my dad brought me to the train station.
Unfortunately I missed the train at 18.04 because I forgot something at home and we had to turn around (I’m forgetful, very).

So, in Kirchseeon, I had to wait 20 minutes for the next train. It wasn’t bad, seeing I had my Cellphone with it’s 30mb card in it with me 😀 I listened to FEIST, Portishead, Lily Allen, Weezer, Manfred Mann, Jimmy Hendrix, The Cure and The Coral (wow, eight songs baby!!). I took the train until the outskirts of Munich, then switched to take the underground into the city. Just, unfortunately, I couldn’t take metro#1 because it was so damn full with Indian people and Japanese. There was some sort of India/Japan exposition in Munich and 7pm was probably the time everybody left. The metro was soo full, I really wasn’t in the mood to squeeze into it (I had a big bag and a backpack with me too). So i waited another 7 minutes until the next one came. It was full, very full, but I didn’t have to squeeze. I just got in and stood in the middle of 5 Indian People chatting 🙂 There was no other place I could go. Sales engineer was the title of the guy standing 10cm before me.

After a while the metro had less people. There was a 9 year old (about that age) kid standing in front of me, he was “holding tight” to the bar in the train, but he was also goofing around. So, whilst goofing around he lost his balance, tried to catch himself with his arms and slapped me so hard in my face. I just stood there, mouth open, shocked… i couldn’t even say anything. He just looked at me as well, said nothing. After a few seconds I did give him a dirty look though. Oh man, I was so pissed (not only at that boy) – but at the whole situation. Munich being soo damn full on a Sunday. I was quite happy when I got home, into my little apartment, where I have my peace.

Update downtime

Ehr – I’m updating my pages and I find more and more things I don’t like about them. But with work and being lazy it takes me longer to set them up.
Working on the new layout as well.

My nephew is now called “Mingus Lino”. Interesting name. I get used to Mingus – although I tend to say Magnus.
Take care!

I’m an aunt

[EDIT]I’m working on my pages, so you won’t have access to the “about me” etc section. I don’t like how it’s organised.[/EDIT]

I’m an aunt again 😀 My nephew was born August 31st at 19:35 and he’s so tiny! He doesn’t have a name yet, my sister was thinking of Jakob or Milan and my brother-in-law really really really wants Elvis. Oh Gawd – we are all not happy with Elvis but he just loves that name. I totally forgot to take pictures of him because I was too busy looking at his little hands and feet and face . Aaw 🙂
