Superficial world

Yesterday evening, 22.30, a report on tv. A report about teenage girls wanting plastic surgery.
There was a girl, 19 years old, skinny as can be, saying “My thighs are too fat, I’m soo unhappy“. The mother was against the operation, the daughter justified her decision with “I’m the one who has to run around with thos fat thighs, and mom, I thought you want to see me happy“.

The surgeon was asked what he thinks about the young people nowadays, who want the “perfect” body. He was asked about the 19-year old girl. He answered “Her thighs are going to be a problem with sports bla bla bla…“. Was he serious? The legs of that girl weren’t even touching when she was standing.

That’s when I switched the chanel. Things like that upset me so damn much. PEOPLE like that upset me. People like the stupid brainsick girl, people like the “on the crook” doctor, who only wants his money. Shame on him!

About an hour later my curiosity took me to that chanel with that report again. Another girl, 16 years of age, finding her love handles too fat. Her belly was flat, no fat anywhere, just the normal nice looking feminine “fat”. I assume she probably just wears jeans two sizes too small (which would be size -4 😀 ) and then – of course – it pushes some meat out. But that’s sexy, men like that, it’s normal, it’s YOU!

Superficiality can kiss my ass!

  1. im not happy with my body, but i would never subject myself to plastic surgery. and i HATE it when girls who are anorexic think they are fat. it annoys the hell out of us “fat” people. wat is with them anyways?? but i love your site. the colors make me smile. he he.

  2. Man, I totally agree with everything you said. It saddens and sickens me that people have such low self-esteem and distorted concepts of beauty.

Coincidentally, I just saw a documentary called “Vanity Insanity” which covered stories what people will do for “beauty”. Sad, sad, sad. And some of those people… ewww, gross.

  3. I completely agree with you, it’s disgusting what the media is doing to young girl’s self-esteem. And then they bitch about skinny celebs, that’s their fault!!

  4. Things like that make me sick too. When do you see a girl that’s actually chubby on those shows complaining? It’s always the girls that are already pretty that whine and complain that they’re so fat. Ugh.

Why has the concept of beauty become so distorted?

  5. Grrr, I agree with you. SO annoying! My youngest sister thinks this way sometimes and she is seriously one of those size 1’s or 0’s. *sigh*

    💡 Love these smilies! 💡

  6. AMEN SISTER! I agree so much. I used to be really uncomfortable with my body but I’ve grown to accept it and I suggest everyone tries to do the same..really, it’ll make your life better.

I also agree that men tend to not like skinny as a stick girls! Most guys I know prefer a little meat to bones anytime.

  7. I know how you feel, I have been looking at this tv serie called Dr 9012 or something like that, and I remember a girl that wanted her lovehandels to go away – and she didn’t even had them to begin with. It’s sad and upseting and the worst thing is that I find myself disrespecting my body as well.

You did the right thing to switch chanel! 🙂

  8. People should be happy with what they’ve got. I get disgusted by it as well. I’m sick of people saying they’re fat, and they aren’t. Enough rant.

  9. OMG
Some people are so vein like that, they sound like they don’t even need it, I’m not a fan a plastic surgery if its not necessary, those girls would probably think I’m morbidly obese and theat I need surgery but I’m happy with my big thighs and belly, well not happy but I wouldn’t feel like me without them lol

  10. That’s just the way how the media influences us nowadays. Marilyn Monroe was a size 8 and was an absolute beauty. A woman with curves like her, is then called beautiful. I have no idea why girls think that stick thin bodies with absolutely no curves at all think that’s beautiful. I mean, seriously.

  11. On most of these issues I’m sure I would agree, but I actually think that if a persons body image is causing them problems, then they should be able to rectify it, without the judgement of other people. I feel for the girl, because I know exactly how she feels. I’m not “fat”, but I’ve considered having surgery to reduce the size of my thighs/butt/hips, but I can’t afford the cost. When something consumes your life enough to affect it, shouldn’t it be ok to try and seek out a way of making yourself feel happier rather than staying the way you are just to keep “everyone else” happy?

But that doctor is full of crap. That’s a really poor way of justifying it and it shows how much he doesn’t care.

  12. Oh my gosh! That’s just disgusting! It’s so hard to believe the extent of the obsession over the supposedly ‘perfect’ body these days. I think these people have a distorted view of beauty or something. It’s really quite sad.

  13. amen to everything you said! things like that get me angry too. damn, I weigh 70 kg’s and even with 90 I probably wouldn’t think of plastic surgery yet. it’s so unnatural and a really shocking and disgusting trend.

  14. Ya. That really bugs me! I can’t seem to understand how young people think these days (excluding me haha), its like their brain has gone cuckoo. Geez. Media influences are too big.. it sucks.
