All done

Wow, I haven’t visited my site in ages. Surprised to see 11 comments though 😉 Thanks for your support everyone 🙂

So, exams are over and I’m starting to get bored.. haha. Not for long, Alex and I have so much planned I’m not even sure if we’ll manage to get everything done. I have four weeks free and then I’ll start working for six weeks, and then class starts again. Now I wish I wouldn’t have to work 🙁 Dang, but oh well, it’s money right? And experience.

For all the old Bebedawlers who want to keep in touch, email me (tracy[at]schatzi.me) with your old username.

Back to the exams, Cartography and Remote Sensing went ok, Photogrammetry and Databases went BLAH!! In Databases we had three! hours of PHP, he said he wouldn’t ask a code of PHP in the exam and what did he do?? Placed a php code almost one side long. Now – all the experts here could have answered it with no doubt, but I was just sitting there thinking “WTF”. I was pissed – mainly because I felt so stupid for trusting the prof that he wouldn’t ask a CODE!!! The SQL and Databases part went quite ok though, so I hope I passed.

The whole class is quite “pissed” (well, we all feel a little “verarscht” – don’t know the english word):

– One Prof says he’ll add the formulas to the exam – the only “formula” he added was the radius of the earth
– The other Prof says he might change some formulas around – He asked things where we didn’t even know the formulas because we never did a problem like that in class.
– The last prof says “nooo, no php code” and brings a one side code, asks for the variables and what it means.

Seriously – WTF??
I’m so glad when I’m done!!! (only one semester baby, then I’ll start my thesis :D)

  1. Well sometimes they do that just to figure out if we know all there is to know or if we just study some parts of it for the exams. Normally I try to study everything.. It makes me feel a lot safer. Of course, there are some cases in which you can’t really help but feel “wow i didn’t study this”… Why? Because it was never taught.
Even in my national exams, there were questions that were unrelated to the program. It’s really unfair, specially when you can’t even get “there” by using your logic.

  2. when I was reading the 3rd paragraph about the exams I was like, wtf, confusing lol.cartography, sql… yea lol, much respect for all thats on your plate. Enjoy your 4 weeks of relaxation 🙂

  3. Haha. Youre professors are cuckoo. If a professor did that to us back in college, the whole class would’ve protested.

What’s ‘sexy boy’ in German? 😛

  4. Prof’s suck… but then you’ll be able to boast that you passed the exam 😉

Besides, there’s a high chance you won’t use much of what you learned in school anyway. I know I use CSS and XHTML a lot in my work, but I’ve learned those on my own. Though I guess C# and SQL are not to be frowned at… but I all but failed my second SQL semester (yet here I am doing what I was taught in it :P).

  5. Hopefully you have done well.

I understand what you mean when you say you are bored. I like having free time, but too much of a good thing is a bad thing. I am starting college in about 5 weeks and I can’t wait.

  6. That’s pretty messed up, actually. I mean if they say to you that there will or will not be a certain type of thing on the exam, then it shouldn’t be. Why in the world would they blatantly lie about it? I’d be pissed too. How freaking rude. At least you are done though, like you said.. and you can relax a bit huh?

Don’t worry about not updating alot, I mean what’s the fun of having your own blog/website if you feel you have an obligation to blog?
