Year 2008 Resolutions

I don’t make resolutions. Like the lovely Amanda stated:

“I don’t normally believe in making resolutions in the new year, if only because if one wants to significantly change or improve one’s life, it’s something that should be thought about and implemented every single day of the year, not simply on the first day of a year.”

Very nicely said.

That’s my opinion as well. I have so many good resolutions which I resolve throughout the year, I don’t need a January 1st 20**.

I do have quite some plans/projects in 2008:

  • I’m turning 26 – in 19 days πŸ™
  • I’m writing my last exams starting on January 28 – hoping to get all A’s
  • I’m starting my thesis on February 18
  • I’m working on a movie project for The Bavarian Broadcas about my Uni
  • I’m working on a project with Wikis and Podcasting for Apple Germany
  • I hope I’ll be done with my thesis by the end of September
  • I hope to be a graduate Engineer by October
  • I hope to get a job in the Remote Sensing area this year

Actually a pretty busy year is ahead of me and I can’t wait to “attend” the challenge. (Is that how you say it?)

2008 also brings some changes for Germany:

  • respirable dust badge for big cities
  • no-smoking in ALL the restaurants

Happy new year everyone πŸ˜€

  1. What’s a dust badge? Will there at least be smoking areas in restaurants? πŸ˜€

2008 seems to be a busy year for you, exciting exciting. Happy 2008, Humpy! Bisous!

  2. You know, I can’t quite remember the saying. I think it’s “face” the challenge. It sounds like you do have a very busy year ahead of you! I hope it all goes well.

I’ve always known your age and yet in my head you’re a few years younger — maybe it’s the photos. πŸ˜›

  3. Happy New Year Tracy! Sounds like you’ve got quilt a lot of things in store for you! Good luck with them ALL! πŸ™‚ I just turned 25 myself. Funny, I still feel the same as ever though. And yes, I am curious too- what IS a dust badge? πŸ˜•

Until NOW there were smoking areas in restaurants. As of yesterday it’s like in the States – no smoking in every restaurant. If you want to smoke – then outside.

… I HOPE it’s the photos, but maybe it’s my way of writing? πŸ˜‰

To “save” the citizens against the “fine dust”, motor vehicles with high pollutant emissions aren’t allowed to drive into the cities.
Phew – I had to look up almost every word in the dictionary πŸ˜‰

  5. Happy New Year! It’s great that you have so many plans! I wish all of my plans weren’t so up in the air, because while I love surprises, I also love having something to look forward to! Best of luck with your crazy amounts of projects!

  6. I’d say “attend to” or “rise to” the challenge, but “face”, as suggested in another comment, would also be correct.

Anyway, I wish you luck! Sounds like you’re going to have one hell of a busy year!

  7. Oooh, a busy year for Tracy! πŸ˜€ Sounds like it will be very productive though, so good luck on all of your projects and plans!

I’m totally with you and that quote about resolutions. I’d just end up having pity parties all year long if I tried to stick to one set of “year-long” goals. It’s more practical and realistic to set them throughout and accomplish things according to how events flow in your life at that time.

Hope you have a fab weekend! πŸ˜€
