IT courses

I just signed up for three courses at the adult education program (school).
They offer quite a variety of different courses, not only IT-based, but also things like cooking, philosophy etc etc.

I applied for:

  • optimizing websites: Usability and Accessibility
  • HTML-add-on-knowledge: Website-layouts with CSS
  • Microsoft Access

I hope I get into those three. I need the Access course for University, only if I have that course I can go on to MySQL and PHP and SQL.

I wanted to apply for XML, but that course is one Saturday before work starts and… I’m lazy. So if anybody knows some good XML tutorial sites I’d be very thankful.

I wanted to apply for a certificate in “online-publishing” which contains three courses. But gee, one course costs € 250.- and that’s quite a lot.
I’m now looking into the ECDL – the “European Computer Drivers License”. It’s an international based IT-certificate which tests your knowledge in Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, Internet, WWW, Email… I do need more knowlege in Excel and, of course, Access.

Ah, in the moment I have sooo many dreams (which are impossible to make true, but a person needs dreams!!). I thought about studying Computer-Science, then go to the States and study Wind-engineering… yeah right. Making an internship in the States in the fiel of Cartography or surveying would be makeable 🙂 I’ll definatelly aply for internships next summer. Sitting home all day drives me nuts. BMW or web-design companies or graphic-design companies would be interesting. Or maybe at a TV channel here in Germany… aahh… 🙂 yeah.

Anyways, I’m at my paren’s right now, waiting for the 26-pages of the ECDL-demo-test to get printed on the Hewlett Packard 610C. One page takes about… one minute? I’ll just wait and wait and wait 😉

  2. I’m jealous right now, I”d love to take those courses! Unfortunately the college here in town doesn’t offer anything spectacular so I’m out of luck until I can apply for something better 🙁

  3. Whoa! I like this new color scheme. Very autumn-y. 😀

Kaplan and I have been talking about taking an adult course together in a foreign language, most likely Spanish. It’s so hard to find a college that will let us enroll without having to take basic classes though.

I hope you get into your courses!
