Schmoosch Moosch…

Yes, the above two words popped into my head when I thought about which title to use.
I am so tired, my eyes hurt. Sitting in front of the PC from 8am to 23:41 really isn’t good. Especially not when you’ve been doing that for weeks and will keep doing that for two more months! That’s when I have to hand in my thesis – two months from now. January 23rd, 2009. That date seems so close!

So far I have 112 pages and still no results. I’m happy to say though, that following parts are completed: theory of SAR/Radar (ok, does someone know why my WP plugin for acronyms doesn’t work? By chance?), description of the test area and data, data pre-processing and the visual interpretation.

What I've been doing...

Oh man, I’m so happy when it’s over! Due to me having most of the software I need at home, I write and analyze at home. So, I get up, drink my coffee and browse the net. By 9:00am I’m starting on my thesis and will work on it until the evening or night, till about 22:00. I’ll make breaks in between, for sure, but I pretty much don’t leave my apartment.
Two days ago the Lover and I went for a walk at night; not long, 45 minutes maybe. I still have a very unpleasant pain in my right thigh from, you know, all the moving.

I haven’t been jogging or to the gym in weeks months! Two months for sure! I pay €40 a month for the gym and I feel like I don’t have the time to go! Boo!

My eyes hurt on a daily basis but today, eventually, I turned down the brightness and contrast of my monitor! Feels much (sort of – a little actually) better now.

So, I’m going to go to bed now. I just wanted to keep you updated. Posting a video and lyrics can’t always be a solution πŸ˜‰

  1. I’m suprised you haven’t developed… err… desk sores? (Like bedsores except you develop them while working on your desk)

You’ve done quite a bit already. That’s amazing. I procrastinate too much and if I had to do that, I’d probably start working on it after Christmas. lol. Good luck with it! Hopefully you’ll get done with it soon so you can exercise and not be sore after a 45 minute walk anymore!

  2. That is.. a lot.. of pages.
I’m so thankful I’m not in school anymore. Hehehe.

Good job on doing that much work though! I’m so good at procrastinating so it would probably take me 2 years to do that. =P

  3. Ah, good to see that you are working so hard. If you put a slice of cucumber on your eyes it would feel better or you can use a tower, dip it in hot water and put it over your eyes. They’ll make your eyes feel much better.

  4. Your screen shot scared the hell out of me HAHA. We’re off to start with our thesis soon. We’re in the process of creating our topics to make a thesis out of. It’s crazy coz I couldn’t think of a nice one to begin with! :s Good luck, Tracy!

  5. Oh mein Gott! Das sieht ja nach jeder Menge Arbeit aus.. du Γ„rmste! Aber du hast es ja bald geschafft und bestimmt wird sich die harte Arbeit auch auszahlen! Das schaffst du schon! Bist ja anscheinied auch schon weit gekommen, also immer schΓΆn weiter machen! =) Halte durch =)

  6. Wow, it looks like you have a crap load of work that you’ve done, no wonder you’re so busy, you’ve definitely got your hands full. Looks almost as overloading as children. πŸ˜›

  7. Good grief. You’ve been really busy. I’m sure it’s all going to pay off. having your hands full during those long hours of the day. I’m not a teacher, but that looks like an A+ to me. πŸ˜‰

  9. Wow that’s alot of pages, with alot of stuff, that I don’t think I could pull off bc unless needed. I’m going into nursing so I get to deal with dirty crap first and learn how to stick needles in people πŸ™‚ . Good luck with your thesis.

  10. You’ve been working a lot! Those are a lot of pages! (as if you didn’t know… right). It must be a stressful project, but looks like you are on the right track. I’m sure you’ll feel awesome when you are done πŸ™‚

  11. Wow … to me, a freshman in university … that just sounds really, really terrifying. =(

Some common tips I’ve heard for people whose eyes hurt from the strain of computers–you could put some cold teabags on your eyes, it soothes as well as has a beautifying (aka smoothening) effect. You could also massage your eyes, google that for more tips on how. Also, the experts say that you should take a short break every half hour, walk around, look out into the distance, look at something green, etc. I dunno if any of these will help but you could always give them a try. =)
