Fox? Vox?

A lot of people have personal sites. They have their own domain. Their own personal blog. To write their personal thoughts.

Now, when I have a site I pay for I’d want my blog to be there. What else should I put on the site? Of course, Art, Photos and maybe content for the visitor. But when you’re not into those things too much, your site is pretty much empty.

So why do site owners start blogging on sites where you sign up for? What am I talking about? VOX of course.

Now, I know with Vox you have your neighbors and you can decide who you want as your neighbor and who not. You don’t have to code anything, the site is nice-looking etc. But why would you want to move your blog there and not on your site?

I don’t know too much about Vox. Can you set your blog private so that other people can’t view it? Or can everybody view it – Voxers and Non-Voxers?

Vox is the new online trend, you can only get one through an invite. Now it’s something special “Who has an invite? I want one!” But actually, it isn’t that special at all, I think. You use a theme they have designed. That’s the biggest Turn-off in my opinion.

Oh, what do I know. I just think that people are going crazy with that Vox. But don’t get me wrong, I have a Vox account as well, which I set up, but I got bored quite fast.

What’s your opinion on that??

I’m about to leave to my parents for the weekend. My lovely boyfriend Alex gave me his car so that I don’t have to pay 10,50 Euro for a one way train ticket for a ride which takes only 35 minutes. That’s 30 Cent per minute. Way too much! When going by car, of course, I have to pay the gas, but isn’t the car just much more comfortable!?

  1. Hehehehehe. I just got my Vox yesterday, so Im still all “WOOHOO!” over it 😀 I even have a 2nd one now, just because I wanted to get that name (bikini.vox.com) before someone beats me to it.

    And yes! Private sexblogs yes!

  2. i find it pointless like myspace. the only acceptable of them is LJ but it’s a totally different thing and anyways i still dont get why people should blog BOTH in their site and in LJ. i find it hard even to have one single blog.
it’s like having wordpress but not being able to customize it and use the tamplates: everyone look the same. not creative at all.

  3. i’m actually starting to get a little tired of vox. i like that i can update content other than a blog on it (ie. music, movies, pictures, etc) but that’s about it.

also, i’m more likely going to be using vox for my “crap” blog. i’ve always wanted my blog on my website (that i pay for) to have a bit more meat (more well thought-out entries). i never liked posting “crap” on my website, and that’s why i usually had a livejournal. but i neglected that too 😛 heheh.

  4. I gues Vox is there for privacy. I don’t post too many personal entries but when I have to rant and rave, I’ll blog in another blog such as my LJ. I’ve never heard of Vox, until now. Let me go check it out.

  5. I’ve heard of Vox just recently and I still don’t actually know anything about it, I visited the site once but I figured that was all I needed to join another website so I just figured it’d be better off to stick with my Myspace and website.

  6. I agree. Vox is such a BIG thing now on the internet. people are litterally yelling at me for invites. 😯 I have one but like you, i get bored fast and I have a website to blog so I prefer to do my blogging on my site.

  7. I’ve just gotten discouraged from posting on my ‘formal’ domain weblog, and thought that writing on vox (which is an entirely new audience for me that would probably never visit my blog) might make me post more, even if just casually.

post pvt sex vox plz. 😉

  8. aahhh..vox. i don’t know if i should be pleased with it or not. at first, it feels exciting because it’s new. but yeah, it gets boring after a while. im pretty bored with it now. but i guess i’ll just use it to share photos and rant about uber private stuff. haha. im not posting my vox link in my blog so my regular visitors won’t be able to see it. and im planning to blog on vox ONLY in school, since that’s all i’ve been ranting about in the past year. i’ll keep the decent ones in my domain blog. nyahaha. 🙂

  9. HAHA, I’m actually tired of VOX already too! I guess I lied in my last entry @ Bare =P. I think it’s just easy for people to not have to think about designing their blog sites. *shrug* Plus, it’s a trend, so most people are just going to jump on it, but I find it annoying b/c half of my “dailies” have moved to vox already and left their sites empty. Similar to Lili, I was intending to use it as my bullshit blog as oppose to Bare with my well-thought out entries. But I don’t even really like writing bullshit entries, hahaha. Oh well. I guess we will see what happens of my vox.

I hope you have a good time at your parent’s house this weekend. 🙂

  10. Not really interested in the whole VOX scene. I bet it will just be a trend and then BOOM! There will be another blogging thing available in a few years. I love my personal site and I think I’ll just stick to that for now 🙂 hehe.
