Tiffany and Co.

Today was a very depressing day. My “fear of flying” ate me alive. I woke up at 3am, couldn’t go back to sleep for one hour because I had the most wicked thoughts about a plane crash. And I couldn’t stop those thoughts and at about 4am I was glad that my tiredness came back to put me asleep again. The awkward part on this – it wasn’t even me flying. My Mom and Sister flew (they should be landing in Atlanta, Georgia right now) to the States today, to Siesta Key (Sarasota), Florida (I must say I’m jealous they are allowed to spend the next two weeks in such a beautiful place), with Delta Airlines.

My fear of flying is pretty frustrating. When I fly I’m totally terrified (note that I’ve been flying since I was two years old and at least once each year) but the older I get/got, the more I got scared. 9/11 didn’t really support my fear.

I really wish I wouldn’t have that fear, this whole day I was a nervous wreck (it scares me most to know the plane is over the ocean), I really wish I wouldn’t feel this way because I’d love to see so many more places on this world, I’d love to fly to the States again (plus, I still have a free flight with Delta because of all my sky miles) – the States have so awesome shops :D.

Next year the geography class is flying to Crete or Santorini, I’d love to go but… eh, I’m afraid I won’t go. I haven’t been on vacation for sooo long though (except Austria).

Anyways, to get my thoughts away, I’ve been surfing for Engagement-rings 😀 Germany really doesn’t have any pretty ones, so I googled for Tiffany’s. There’s even a store in Munich 🙂 Oh, they have such pretty rings. I want one <3. Back to the US - do you have any ideas on what my mom/sister could bring me back from the States? I already “ordered” a few things, like

  • Victoria’s Secret Panties
  • Clinique cream
  • Clinique eyeliner
  • Pillow cases (Germany doesn’t have the American size)

Have a good start into the new week!

  1. Well, I have the same problem about flying. I always fear the plane is gonna crash, whether it is me who’s flying or my boyfriend. I’m terrified when he’s gonna travel somewhere, and I’m always praying for him to come home alive.

About presents…I am really not sure. I would have maybe asked for an iPhone (well, no..I couldn’t ask for something that expensive). Certainly clothes. Jeans from Abercrombie, or something like that. You got me on this one.

Yeah, seeing I pay for the stuff they bring me (well, I guess my mom will turn the Clinique stuff into xmas-presents) the iPhone.. too expensive, allthough I really really like it 🙂

  3. Hehe. Talk to me about fear of flying! I’ve flown at least once a day every day thsi past week! And not only as a passenger! 😀

Clinique eyeliner is awesome. I need to buy myself some of tha tstuff, too. You definitely need to have them bring you stuff back from Victoria’s secret. That’s one store I really missed when I was living in Germany.

  4. I never had the fear of flying. I figure that there are much less plane crashes than car crashes. Planes don’t have much to crash into in the sky. But I do agree that plane crashes seem more devastating, since chances of survival seem slim or at least I think so. Falling from the sky isn’t a comfortable picture.

I don’t know of anything you can get in the states that you can’t get in Germany since I’ve never been to Germany but the list you provided sounds good.

I know I know, why blogging I actually thought of you. Not only whilst blogging actually, but also every now and again yesterday. Me:”Man, I wish I were like Melissa” “I wish I were like her” … 😀

  6. I LOVE flying!!! The whole taking off and landing thing is like a HUGE rush to me. American stuff, huh? what about post cards? ok so i couldn’t think of anything else at the moment… 😉

  7. LOL @ the pillow cases. You could have them sewed in Germany? 😛 Hmm. I’d say Mac, but you don’t wear make-up that much. Chris brought me a bottle of Grey Goose from the US. Unfortunately, it broke inside his luggage at the airport.

Fear of Flying – Erica Jong book. The zipless fuck. Put that on your reading list, Humpy 😀

  8. I haven’t been on a plane for years- but I don’t think I’m that scared of planes 🙂 Don’t worry though, I hear flying is safer than driving 🙂

Maybe some clothes, some jewelery or accessories might be some good stuff to get from the U.S
