How far along: 26 weeks 6 days
How much do I weigh: 55,7 kg (+ 6,9 kg)
Belly size: At times I gain 1 kg a week. Unbelievable how rapid weight gain can go!

Sleep: Sometimes I sleep until the alarm goes off, sometimes I get up once, sometimes I can’t get to sleep too good anymore after I got up once. The whole program, but I can’t complain.
Food (non) cravings: Nothing special
Symptoms: None actually
Maternity clothes: Pants and some tops
Stretch marks: None, and no linea nigra
Miss anything: I missed drinking alcohol at the company’s Christmas Party ๐Ÿ™‚ It started at 3pm yet I survived until about 10pm without it. I guess I was high from all the sugar in the non-alcoholic punch. But of course it’s always nice to chat with the co-workers, especially in a company where everybody gets along quite well with each other.
Looking forward to: Enjoying my Christmas Vacation
Best happenings this week:

  • Going to the OB and hearing that everything is just fine with the baby
  • I made a carbohydrate loading test for diabetes and all is good, I don’t have pregnancy diabetes
  • I had a CTG (cardiotocograph) done, baby’s heartbeat is jut fine and I don’t have contractions
  • My cervix is 4,3cm long – all fine, my ph-value is fine too
  • My iron value is fine
  • Baby is lying with his head down (which can always change of course, let’s hope he’s lazy)
  • Baby boy weighs around 980g
  • My blood pressure was a bit low

Movement: Daily <3, mainly he's kicking/boxing/whatever on my right side. My placenta is on the front wall left so maybe that's the reason - he knows the food etc. is coming from the left side so he's scared to kick against it ๐Ÿ™‚ While having a french class in the evening last Monday he kicked me in such a weird place I almost jumped out of my seat and screamed out Jesus! How much do I weigh: 54,8 kg (+6 kg) Are my pink pants getting tighter? I think so… thighs are getting fatter ๐Ÿ™

Food (non) cravings: Bavarian Pretzels
Symptoms: Calf cramps at night after the gym (once) and some lower back pain sometimes
Maternity clothes: Jeans, my regular tops are getting tighter each week too though
Stretch marks: None yet
Miss anything: Glรผhwein (Mulled wine) maybe a tiny bit, but the non alcoholic punch is just as good
Looking forward to: My Christmas vacation! Soon! Seeing Baby-Boy-Bruno in five days again, maybe?
Best happenings this week:

  • Looked at hospital #5 on Thursday and we both liked it, so I guess I have my two hospitals I’m going to register. I’m happy.
  • Went to a yummy Mexican restaurant which tasted just like in Mexico (or Texas).
  • Got a bunch of Baby stuff (clothes, toys, shoes) from friends, I’ll have lots to do during my Christmas vacation with sorting out the things I want and things I don’t want/need.

Sports: As I was gone this weekend I only went to the gym once. Otherwise the regular 30 Minute walk during lunch and my bike ride / walk to work and back.

How far along: 24 weeks 6 days
How much do I weigh: 54,0 kg (+ 5,2 kg)
Belly size: The circumference (2cm under the belly button) is 92cm and from top to bottom it’s 34cm

Sleep: Good, I sometimes get up once, sometimes not
Food (non) cravings: Gewรผrzspekulatius (spiced shortcrust biscuit)
Symptoms:

  • Out of breath easily when walking stairs
  • Can’t bend that well anymore to put on socks or shoes or pick up something from the floor

Maternity clothes: Jeans and tops. Got a big bag with maternity clothes from my best friend and found some cute tops and some sport pants.
Stretch marks: Nope
Miss anything: Here’s what I don’t miss:

  • getting terrible PMS every month
  • having my period for 7+ days
  • to have to pull my belly in after each meal so that it still looks flat

Looking forward to: My Christmas vacation and sleeping in daily then.
(Best) happenings this week:

  • Looked at hospital #4. We both liked it but read about this huge scandal which happened last year concerning the pediatric clinic, so now I’m a bit confused.
  • Went to the musical “Dirty Dancing”. It was made very cute but doesn’t come close to Phantom of the Opera or Grease
  • Made an appointment with the doctor who will be delivering my child (if I decide for to deliver at hospital #3)
  • Hearing that my boyfriends’ best friend got engaged and he’ll be the best man

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy, I love seeing all the Christmas lights outside when riding/walking through the city and listening to Christmas music whilst driving my boyfriend nuts.
Sports: At the moment I go on Friday and Sunday. My heart rate is a bit wacky, it’s up to 160 after I change clothes but goes down very fast. Not sure if it’s just not working correctly or if that’s another pregnancy symptom. Also started a DVD called “fit during pregnancy” today. No pain, no sweat – never had such a relaxing sport session ๐Ÿ™‚ It felt good though, exercises for the pelvic floor, legs, arms, it was good.

Belly button in or out: Well, it’s kind of even ๐Ÿ™‚ Still “in” though.
Sleep: As usual, quite good with getting up once.
Food (non) cravings: As usual – loving to eat everything.
Symptoms:

  • Back pain from lifting too much weights, not doing that again.
  • I’ve had some leg cramps in the night twice this week.

Maternity clothes: Yes please
Stretch marks: No please
Miss anything: Nope, I’m feeling quite good.
Looking forward to: My winter vacation in three weeks!
(Best) happenings this week:

  1. Knowing that our baby can survive in the outside world!
  2. Registered for a prenatal class
  3. Looked at hospital #3. We both really liked it. Next week we’re looking at one last hospital.
  4. Got a hair cut after 10 months. Yay! (But forgot my wallet to pay for it…forgetting things might be another symptom I have)

Movement: Daily. I love knowing that I’m not alone.

Sports: Still trying to go twice a week, sometimes I only manage once due to a busy schedule. I go for a 30 minute walk though every lunch and walk a bunch of stairs. On Friday I went on the Crosstrainer for 30 minus (so proud I lasted 30 minutes, not because of lack of endurance but because it’s just soo boring) and then I made my strength endurance with a stretching cool down. I enjoy taking my time at the gym. The gym pants are getting tighter though, I guess I might have to buy a bigger size later on. But as long as my clothes don’t feel totally uncomfortable I’ll keep on wearing them.

How far along: 22 weeks 6 days
How much do I weigh: 52,7 kg (+ 3,9 kg)
Belly size: Growing, luckily.

Sleep: Getting up once a night for the bathroom. Sometimes I manage to sleep through until 6am though.
Food (non) cravings: Nothing unusual
Symptoms: Backache from lifting too much, I figured that out now. So next time I use the back machine I need to put on much less weights.
Maternity clothes: Pants
Stretch marks: None
Miss anything: Nope
Looking forward to: Hm, looking forward to my Christmas vacation in four weeks which means only 18,5 days of work ๐Ÿ˜€
Best happenings this week:

  1. We narrowed our baby names down to six each
  2. I finally made it to my French Course on Monday eve without falling asleep before
  3. Had an OB appointment on Friday, everything is good!

Movement: Yes, daily.

Sports: Twice a week, on the cross trainer for the warm-up, then 45 minutes strength endurance, then stretching as a cool down.

How far along: 21 weeks 6 days
How much do I weigh: 52,2 kg – let the weight gain begin (+ 3,4 kg)

Sleep: Good with the usual once-a-night toilet visit
Food (non) cravings: The usual, nothing extraordinary.
Symptoms: None
Maternity clothes: Pants and I bought a classic sweat pullover with hoody and zipper for my expanding belly.
Stretch marks: Nope
Miss anything: No, I got used to eating cheese not made out of raw milk and not eating fish sushi and not eating different types of sausages like Salami.
Looking forward to: My next OB appointment in five days!
(Best) happenings this week: Luckily this week hasn’t been too busy.

  1. Thursday: We looked at hospital #2. A huge thing in the middle of the city. It’s an teaching hospital and medically it’s got everything. It’s got an intensive care unit for babies which is a good thing. But I didn’t feel comfortable in the delivery room and in the hospital generally. We’ll see, we’re planning on looking at two more hospitals.
  2. Friday: We finally changed the tires on our car, we’re now winter approved. We also went to the baby store again to get informed about the price on the stroller we’re interested in. The bubby cooked a lovely Thai dinner for us.
  3. Saturday: Rest day, I did go to the gym for 1,5 hours though, cross trainer for 20 minutes and a bunch of weights for shoulders, legs, arms, back. It felt good. The boyfriend and I made lasagne in the evening, so good!
  4. Sunday: Nice German dinner at my parent’s place. It seems like ages we all ate together (yes, it does).
  5. Actually seeing our baby kick. It’s amazing although I have to admit I’m a bit scared when big-boy has 1+, 2+, 3+ kg and is kicking the insides of my belly.
  6. I figured out I only have 47 more days to work. Wow, that’s less!! Can’t imagine not working but I’ll guess I’ll get used to it. Plus I’ll be having a baby then I’ll want to spend every minute of the day with!
  7. We’ve narrowed down our baby-boy names to 18 each.

Movement: A lot, mostly. And not only do we feel it move, we see how my belly creates bumps because the baby’s butt or feet (or head? or nose?) is kicking against it. Loving it ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. I’m pretty sure we decided on which stroller to get so that’s one point less to worry (not that we ever worried). I’m moody (or annoyed) when it comes to people telling me that “at 5 months pregnant I didn’t have such a big belly” or “your baby is getting to be a real chunk”. I’m short (160cm) and petit. If I don’t gain on my belly where else should I gain? Hips? Legs? Butt? My belly did grow rapidly from week 16/17 on, true, but I’m happy my boy is growing (and being neither too big nor too small for his “age”). But I don’t like it in general when people compare people to other people. Everybody is unique – why compare?!
Sports: I’m going twice or three times a week for strength-endurance and cardio. I love how my tight gym-tops shows off my belly. I’ve never seen a pregnant woman at the gym before except me ๐Ÿ˜€
